BIOGRAPHY
I live in Chapel Hill, NC, a delightful college town and a seemingly
endless source of photo images! I came into photography through my
fabric art. I was setting up a website gallery of my fabric artwork
about three years ago and needed photos of the pieces. My sister loaned
me her digital SLR camera and I became fascinated by the immediate
impact of the digital image. I took weekly evening photography classes
for a year to “grow into” the camera. I learned the basics of how
to use
a camera (manual mode), composition, lighting, and portraiture, and
photojournalism. I enjoy photographing people- street and campus
scenes,
festivals, nature, artists of all kinds- painters, potters, musicians,
and dancers. I like to use natural available light and especially like
to work with backlit subjects and on overcast days.
